What is Stud Bolt ?

A bolt is having head and externally threaded fastener designed for insertion through holes in assembled parts, and is normally intended to be tightened or released by tightning a nut while a Stud Bolt is only externally threaded piece of round bar without head capable of being inserted into holes in assembled parts, purely a piece of threaded rod of mating with a preformed internal thread or forming its own thread.

An Stud Bolt do not have any head so it can be inserted into object from any end and it can be released from any object in the same fashion.

Stud bolts are of many types like either fully threaded or partially threaded or even one side or end threaded. It is falling under some specific DIN standards to minimuise description part. In those DIN standrds all dimensional parameters are clear and because of that manufacturer or supplier do know it very well that how much and upto what he is suppose to thread on a particular piece of round bar. We should know that these DIN standards only describe about Stud Bolts Threading patter and nothing else other than these. ANSI standard also describes about threading pattern on Stud Bolts.
